Norman Weiss began his teaching career in the Preservation Program in 1977. This fall will mark his 35th year and it coincides with the conference on Stone Conservation that is being hosted this year by GSAPP. The Program will honor Norman during the conference for his contributions to the field and his dedication as a teacher. A fund has been set up in his name–the Norman Weiss Education Fund– to both improve the facilities in the conservation laboratory and help conservators in private practice attend the conference.

Norman was a mentor and teacher to many of us alumni. Any contribution to this fund would be most appreciated. Checks can be made out to “The Historic Preservation Education Fund” (with “Norman Weiss Education Fund” written on the lower left of the check) and sent to:
