Join Preservation Alumni on Saturday, April 29th, as we partner with Green-Wood Cemetery for our annual Spring Work Day! At present, the expected schedule is as follows:
10-10:15AM: Coffee at Green-Wood’s restoration workshop! Perk up while we get a quick tour of the shop, an overview of ongoing restoration projects and further instructions about the day’s activities.
10:15AM-12:15PM: Work begins! We’ll break into small groups for cleaning of marble headstones under the guidance of Manager of Preservation & Restoration Neela Wickremesinghe (HP Class of ’11)
12:15-12:45PM: Headstone resetting demonstration!
12:45PM – 1:15PM: “Trolley” Tour
This is a great opportunity to work hands-on with fellow alums and current students and see a beautiful and historic part of NYC.
** And for first-year students, Green-Wood has an open internship opportunity and a wealth of resources for possible thesis topics, so show up and network - We hope to see many of you there! **
